Personal Note
Letter from the Author
Hello and thank you for being here.
I wrote this book about my little boy that had Cerebral Palsy. We didn’t find out about the CP until he was 4 months old. During that time, the spinal fluid in his head did a lot of damage to his brain. His head wasn’t larger than it was supposed to be, so it wasn’t noticeable until imaging was done to his head. The imaging was needed since he wasn’t hitting developmental milestones.
I wrote the book to allow everyone to know and enjoy Jason . He was perfect in every way. After his diagnosis, I knew that he wouldn’t have a long life and I wanted to remember everything about him. And I didn’t want anyone else to forget about him. He was loved so much and impacted many people. He never could see, speak, move independently, feed himself or say, “Mama.”
I am not a professional educator or social worker. This is simply my journey, as a mother, loving and taking care of my sweet child, Jason. I’m hoping that I can share some things that worked for me and other things that didn’t work so well.
